Located in new Chumphon Governmental Center, the Chumphon National Museum has exhibits such as: Chumphon Today, History of Chumphon, Chumphon during the World War II, and Typhoon Gay that devastated the area in 1989, killing more than 800 people. A film on Typhoon Gay is shown twice a day at 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. Built in 1995, the museum has an extensive library on the first floor with exhibits on the second floor. 

To reach the museum, take Phetkasem Road to Km 484 and enter the Chumphon Governmental Center in Amphoe Mueang, Chumphon. 

The museum is open to the public 9.00 am-4.00 pm from Wednesday to Sunday, except for official holidays. The entrance fee is 30 baht per person. For more details, call 0 7750 4105 or 0 7750 4246, or view the website at www.thailandmuseum.com.
